How to stop MSSQL Server
Step 1
To stop MS SQL Server, select the service manager located at the bottom right hand side of your taskbar.
Step 2
From here, choose MSSQLServer – Stop. SQL Server will be stopped from running.
Step 3
To start it from the command line try the following code
C:\net stop mssqlserver
Service has been stop from command prompt.
